METRO FC PLAYERS IN REGIONAL POOL
Congratulations to Metro FC's Jevon Mason and Pat Raiff for being selected to the USYSA Region II ODP Pool. Jevon plays for the u17 Rapids coached by Tony Saliba and Kiki Lara. Pat plays for the u16 Coraggio Premier team, coached by David Wall. Metro FC Director of Coaching Kevin Arcuri said," We are very proud of Jevon and Pat. Both are very good players and showed their abilities throughout the ODP process in Overland, Kansas. They are both in a pool of players that will be selected to various USYSA events throughout the year. Both players are very deserving to be selected."
Rec Program RefereesAug 19 - We are still looking for youth referees for the Metro Juniors Rec program. Referee Meeting and Training Session - Sunday Aug 29 at 6:00 We are still in need for youth referees for this years Rec league.� This is a wonderful opportunity to gain more soccer knowledge, help teach young kids the proper way to play the game as well as earn some money this fall. Games are Monday thru Thursdays beginning in late August and run thru early October. We work around the nights you have available so as to not interfere with school, practice and training. Metro FC alum, Drew Basil, will be kicking for #2 ranked Ohio State this fall. Drew was a standout player for Metro FC with the 91 Rapids for three years. Basil helped lead the Rapids to the Region II Semi-Finals in 2008 and another Regional appearance in 2009. Metro Director of Coaching Kevin Arcuri said," Drew is a class act and one of the hardest working players that I have ever coached. Kicking for OSU football is an unbelievable accomplishment and the Metro FC family wishes Drew the best of luck in his college career."
   
BRETT THOMPSON JOINS METRO FC STAFFMetro FC is proud to announce that Brett Thompson will be joining the Metro FC Staff at the high school age level. Brett is one of the most respected youth soccer personalities in the country and will be a great asset to Metro FC. Brett is currently the Executive Director of CUSA and is the REGION II Olympic Development Program's Girl's Head Coach. Brett also is on the US National Staff and holds the USSF "A" License and US National Youth License.
Brett will be the co-coach of next year's u16 Girl's Metro FC Coraggio Premier team. Brett will assist current Head Coach Sergio Gonzalez and will also train some other high school age teams during the season. Metro FC Director Kevin Arcuri said, " Having Brett join our staff is a great addition to our program. Brett brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our girl's teams. Also his role as the Region II Head Coach will keep Metro FC up to date with the latest coaching trends within the region and nation. Metro and CUSA have a great partnership and this shows our commitment to working with eachother to provide the best possible coaching environment to our players."
