Fall 2012 U11

 Heads up re: coach practice on the 11th...Saturday morning, Aug. 11th., the girls have a joint practice with the u-12s at Delco by the pond. Because it is a joint session, on that particular day the start and finish times will be 8:30-9:45 a.m. In order to prepare for Sunday's games, the kids will be mixed and two teams will 8 v 8 scrimmage almost the entire session. Again, though, I cannot be there because Oakwood high school has arranged a game with Beavercreek h.s.that kicks off at 9:00 a.m., and I am in sole charge of that game.

Uniforms:

For every game we will wear our red/blue Metro jersey, blue shorts, blue socks. �Please bring all alternative colors in the event we need to change (all white--white metro t-shirt, white shorts, white socks).

Also, please wear compression shorts both at practices and games, ideally the same colors as your shorts for games.

Misc:

Every player should bring half time snacks to games (fig newtons or orange slices).

Every player should be at the field of play for games 45 minutes before kick off.

OPEN DOOR TRAINING POLICY

In an effort to be accommodating to our parents and players, we will be having an ’open door’ training policy for training sessions that Mike Tracy, David Wall, Karl George, and I conduct. This means that if a player cannot make their normally scheduled training session with a trainer because of a conflict, they will be permitted to attend any other training session (that we run) throughout the week. They can attend the same age group, age group lower or higher, or opposite gender training sessions. All that I ask is that the parents communicate to me a day in advance via email before the session so we can plan our numbers accordingly.

Scrimmage:

Metro FC has arranged a series of scrimmages between a number of Metro teams and visitors from a club in MI. Our u-10s are one of the Metro teams scheduled to play at Delco, Sunday, August 14th. We kick off at 11:30 a.m. on field #5 by the Delco park pond. Please make a note of this. We must be at the field by 10:45 as we will start our warm-up by 11:00. Regarding uniforms for the game, I will let you know a.s.a.p. Definitely, we will aim to practice Saturday morning at Fairmont hs.

Pool Party

Tis the season for reminders so don't forget our U10 pool party on Sunday, August 21st! 

Details:

Time: 3pm- ? Pool closes at 9.
Cost: $3 dollars per person before 5pm, $2 per person after 5pm- I will have guest passes for the U10 girls to help with the cost. Sadly, even if you don't swim, you will have to pay the entrance fee.
Food/drinks: Bring your own snacks and beverages. Alcohol is allowed, however glass is not! For the party animals left at the dinner hour, which hopefully will be most of us, we will order and split the cost of pizza.

Tennis courts available so bring tennis shoes and racquets if interested.

Spring Games:

Have the girls wear their new-ish jersey, blue shorts and blue socks. From now on, we will aim to wear that uniform EVERY game home and away, but as always�go to the Delco games with�the alternatives in case we are compelled to change as the home team. Additionally, I would like all our girls at every game 45 minutes before kick-off so they can get ready and we can have a good warm-up.

Please bring everything to every game in case we need to change.

Metro FC Night with the Crew

I wanted to remind you about the Metro FC Club Night with the Columbus Crew on Sunday, October 25th. I’ve attached the flyer again (you may have to click ‘View’ and then ‘Print Layout’).

The Crew is currently is 1st place in the league and will take on the New England Revolution that night. It is also our ‘Fan Appreciation Night’ with a post-game kick on the field, all kinds of give-aways throughout the night and much more!

Driving Directions:
WASHINGTON MILL Park...130 Washington Mill Rd...Bellbrook OH...Take Exit 7 on I-675 (Wilmington Pike). Go south on Wilmington Pike. Turn left on 725 (there is a Kroger at the corner). Stay on 725 through downtown Bellbrook. As you are leaving Bellbrook, you will see a golf driving range on your left at the corner of Washington Mill Road. Turn left on to Washington Mill. The soccer fields will be on your right about 1/3 mile down. As you enter the complex, the U9 and U10 field is on your right, all other fields are on your left. (NOTE: About 1/2 mile after you leave downtown, Sackett Wright Park will be on your right. This is not Washington Mill Park.)
