Kicking Off Another Successful Year!
2008-2009 REVIEW
l Metro had another successful year!
l We had numerous league and tournament championships, and once again, we had the most teams from the Dayton Area in the top divisions of MRL and the Buckeye Premier League.
l Metro Rapids U17 Boys represented the club at the Region II Championships in Sioux Falls South Dakota.
l Metro, for the third consecutive year, was the largest youth soccer club in the Dayton area.
l Metro teams participated in some of the best tournaments in the country. Our teams played at Disney, Tampa Sun Bowl, Crossroads of America, Blue Chip, Norcross Invitational, Mead CUSA Cup, CASL Raleigh Showcase, Arsenal Challenge Cup, Hammer Cup, and many others. Most local clubs were unable to be accepted into these events.
l We were also the lowest costing Premier level club in Dayton. Other clubs may have advertised as being cheaper, but at the end of the day, they cost more because their advertised price didn’t include coaching costs, tournaments, indoor training, etc.
l There are also many cheaper clubs that do not have the ability to offer what we can to our players in terms of professional training, coaching, facilities, and league and tournament acceptances.
AWARD TIME!
l Congratulations to Metro FC’s Nina Vasiliu and Dain Stall for being selected as the MVYSA Girl’s and Boy’s 2008-2009 Coaches of the Year. This is the first time that coaches from the same club were both selected as winners of this award.
l Karl George was also named the OSYSA Boys Coach of the Year.
NEW STAFF
l Metro FC continues to have the best staff in the Dayton area and one of the best in Ohio South. We currently have the most USSF Licensed staff, NSCAA Licensed Staff, college coaches and high school coaches in the area. Our staff is second to none and the hiring of new staff for 2009 continues to show Metro’s commitment to providing the best training and coaching environment to our players.

OUTLOOK
l
Metro has the most youth teams from the Dayton area in the Buckeye Premier League this fall. Our u11-u14 boys and our u13 Girls Rapids teams are all participating in the BPYSL this fall.
l We will again be the largest club in Dayton and one of the largest in Ohio South. We will have 45 teams this year and over 600 kids participating from all over the Dayton area.
l We aren’t striving to be the largest club in Dayton. We are striving to be the best club at providing quality coaches, quality training, a positive learning environment, and an opportunity for our kids to play at the level that THEY wish to achieve. We are currently accomplishing these goals with dedicated coaches, trainers, players and parents. We also have some of the best volunteers a club can ask for…without Samantha Pressel, Dan Craighead, Karl George, Melissa Reynolds, Ed Watson and many others, Metro would not be able to achieve our goals!
l We look forward to another great year!
